This is in Chinatown, but many streets in old Bangkok are packed and crammed and jammed like this.
 
Looks charming, but it's not so great when you hear all the noise and get a whif of the heavy polution. The reason I took the photo below, in fact, is that I wondered at how people can live in such quarters, but the photo doesn't really give that cramped feeling.
