This intersection might be considered the center of Gurye.
Just a step outside Gurye. Gurye is at the foot of Chiri Mountains.
Gurye Hyanggyo, a lower-level school for traditional study. It has the same basic layout as the Sunggyungwan, the highest level for traditional study, in Seoul. (See photos of the Sunggyungwan here.) The shrine to Confucius (Daeseongjeon) is at the head, and the lecture hall (Myeongryundang) and one dormitory to each side are at the back.
