Imho
Seodang. It used to be a school for Confucian studies, but now it is a
residence.
The
ropes and flags and empty plastic makkolli bottle (an offering to the
tree's spirit) are shamanist.
The
same tree as in the photo above. We were dismayed in 2008 when we heard
the news that someone had cut down the tree. Radical fundamentalist Christians
here punish any sign of shamanism that they can.
This
is the main gate to a seoweon (a higher school for Confucian studies)
in the Andong vicinity.
